President Biden showed how critical Pennsylvania, specifically southeastern Pennsylvania, is to his reelection efforts with a visit to Delco hot off the SOTU.

Clinging to a 0.8% polling lead in Pennsylvania and holding close to term-high disapproval ratings, President Biden hoped to capitalize on the momentum from his State of the Union address with a swing through Delaware County.

After flying into Philadelphia International Airport Friday, the President and First Lady stopped at a Swarthmore home to visit with the owners of 360 Market and Cafe before ending the trip with a stump speech at Strath Haven Middle School in Nether Providence Township.

Compared to his ‘fiery’ address at the capitol on Friday night, his speech before the Delco crowd was more relaxed and, unfortunately for the 81-year-old President, a few more stumbles.

While attempting to tout his economic accomplishments, he seemed to claim his administration added to the national debt, picking up the attention of national Republicans.

“We cut the deficit! And we added more to the national debt than any president in his term in all of history; and under Donald Trump!”

Later on, the President implored the friendly crowd to ‘send me to Congress!”

Getting back on track, Biden applauded his administration’s accomplishments and gave a view into the issues that will dominate his reelection campaign; Democracy, abortion rights, and ‘Bidenomics.’

“Our economy’s the envy of the world. 15 million new jobs in just three years, that’s a record in American history. Unemployment at a 50-year low. 800,000 new manufacturing jobs and counting,” he claimed.

Biden repeatedly took direct shots at his all-but-guaranteed GOP opponent Donald Trump, continually evoking his name unlike in his Friday address. He took shots at the former President for comments made regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin, his stance on the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, and the former President’s ‘anti-democratic’ stances.

“Folks, our freedoms really are on the ballot this November. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans are trying to take away our freedoms,” Biden told the crowd.  “That’s not an exaggeration.”

“Well, guess what?” the president added. “We will not let him.”

Following his remarks at Strath Haven Middle School, President Biden departed for the battleground state of Georgia where he and Donald Trump held dueling campaign rallies.
