In a video, Dave McCormick’s Senate campaign accused Democrat Sen. Bob Casey of breaking his promises on the border.

On the heels of a trip to the U.S.-Mexico Border in Arizona, Dave McCormick is blasting Democratic Sen. Bob Casey, saying the open border is a result of “enormous leadership failure” by Casey and President Biden.

McCormick reflected on his trip to the border town of Yuma, Arizona, saying border security and illegal immigration is a “huge” national security challenge. McCormick cited 10 million illegals having entered the United State since Biden took over the Oval Office. The Republican challenger also told PoliticsPA the border and immigration policies of former President Donald Trump are the best solution.

McCormick’s border trip coincided with efforts by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to bring “bipartisan border security” legislation back up to the Senate floor for a vote, which McCormick called “problematic.” The Senate challenger argued that Schumer’s move is “the height of cynicism” and that President Biden already has the tools to end the mass entrance of illegal immigrants into the United States.

Think tanks applaud McCormick for highlighting immigration and border security, saying it’s an “example of a chaotic government failure.”

In a new video following his trip, the McCormick campaign blasted Sen. Casey, saying Casey’s 18-year political career is full of broken promises, including opposing $800 million in funding to detect narcotics at the border, supporting sanctuary cities’ ability to receive federal funding, and supporting legislation to give government benefits to illegal immigrants.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, if the current pace continues, the United States will have 3.4 million illegal entries for Fiscal Year 2024, which would set the annual record. While Biden continues to face criticism for inaction preventing border crossings, his administration recently announced it will accelerate asylum claims in immigration courts for single adult immigrants released by the government in five major American cities.

While the Biden administration speeds up asylum claims for those in the country illegally, recent polling shows an increasing number of Americans “support mass deportations” while the largest percentage polled blame Biden for the current border crisis.
