Bill Bachenberg has entered the race against PA Senator Rothman.

Following Lawrence Tabas’ decision not to run for reelection as Chair of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, conversations began about who would succeed him.

State Senator Greg Rothman is being challenged by Bill Bachenberg, a Lehigh Valley businessman and supporter of President-Elect Donald Trump, to take up the post.

Bachenberg said in a release, “Since the announcement of PAGOP Chairman candidate Ted Christian dropping out of the race, many Republican leaders, voters, grassroots supporters and donors are looking for a chairman who supports their values and beliefs. They are looking for a chairman who believes in Integrity, Trust and Transparency and who has a strategic vision for the future with proven leadership that can unite all PA citizens together for a great Commonwealth.”

Bachenberg said he is committed to “bringing trust, transparency, and integrity to the Chairmanship” to ensure “this is a movement for meaningful change, not a stepping stone for personal ambition.”

Senator Greg Rothman received an endorsement from Christian after he dropped out of the race. He has also received the support of Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick and Representative Dan Meuser.

McCormick said, “Greg is a state senator, Marine, successful businessman, former State Representative, and former chair for the Cumberland County Republican Party, who has seen our state party through many different phases. He has the political savvy and relationships to sustain the progress we made this cycle and make Pennsylvania a powerhouse Republican state.”

Bachberg serves as the first vice president of the NRA

He is focused on reestablishing the NRA’s reputation with President-Elect Trump. He said, “I can say for a fact that President Trump and his inner circle have lost faith in the NRA. We have a tremendous amount of work to rebuild trust with them, just like our members and donors.”

The election for PAGOP Chairman will take place at the Committee’s meeting in Harrisburg in early February.
