The gap in voter registration between the two parties has narrowed significantly.

Ahead of the November election, Republicans have made significant progress in closing the gap with Democrats on voter registration.

Democrats currently have about 59,000 more active registered voters than Republicans, according to data from the Pennsylvania State Department.

In 2020, the split was 517,000 active registered voters.

Over the past few years, Republicans have made an exponential push in voter registrations to close the gap.

Across the state, there are over 1.3 million active registered voters who are not affiliated with either major party. Republicans and Democrats will try to win them over in upcoming elections in the Commonwealth.

In 2024, the Republican Party saw historic wins both nationally and in Pennsylvania.

The most critical swing state in the presidential election, Pennsylvania was the third state to declare President Trump the winner.

At the time of the 2024 election, Bucks County had more registered Republicans than Democrats for the first time in over 15 years. In 2020 just a few years prior, Democrats had outnumbered Republicans by 10,000 registered voters.

Republicans closing the gap in Bucks County is reflective of their voter registration efforts across the entire Commonwealth.
