The announcement came ahead of a critical election for Pennsylvania’s General Assembly this cycle.

In a recent announcement, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee said that it is targeting ten critical races in Pennsylvania’s General Assembly this election cycle.

The committee announced a total of 50 races statewide that the Democratic party hopes to pick up during the midterms. Nationwide, Democrats are targeting 500 races.

“Strong candidates are the foundation of strong campaigns, and our first 50 Target Races are among the most consequential races to watch this November,” said Democratic Campaign Committee President Heather Williams in a recent statement

“Each of these candidates is ready to hit the ground running as they fight to bring down prices for working families, and the DLCC will be with them every step of the way between now and November,” she continued

According to the announcement, the committee works with candidates to “deliver support and resources for data, research, polling, paid communication, and direct voter contact.”

The committee is aiming to help re-elect six House and two Senate Democrats to terms in Harrisburg, and unseat two House Republicans in the upcoming election.

In the Pennsylvania House, the committee is targeting the election of Ryan Bizzarro, Robert Matzie, Mandy Steele, Hadley Haas, Paul Takac, Jim Haddock, Brian Munroe, and Elizabeth Moro.

Bizzarro, Matzie, Steele, Takac, Haddock, Munroe, and Moro are running unopposed in the primary race. They will each face a Republican challenger in November.

In the state Senate, Democrats hope to elect Nick Miller and James Malone.

Both candidates are running unopposed in their primaries and will face general election challengers in November.

As a swing state, Pennsylvania is being targeted by Democrats in their efforts to oust Republican incumbents and secure majorities in the state legislature.

The DLCC is also targeting races in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Iowa.
