Former President Donald Trump’s campaigning in Pennsylvania brought him to Johnstown last week.
Former President Donald Trump’s most recent campaign rally took place in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The GOP nominee has been prioritizing the battleground state of Pennsylvania this campaign season. Both candidates recognize the importance of the Commonwealth to their respective bids for the presidency.
The rally was held last Friday at the 1st Summit Arena at the Cambria County War Memorial. The event drew thousands to the small Pennsylvania city. Johnstown is the largest urban area in otherwise rural Cambria County.
Democrat Mayor Janakovic spoke to the benefit of hosting the Trump rally, saying, “Whenever we get a known dignitary coming to our city that attracts thousands of visitors, it is good for Johnstown and businesses.”
This was Trump’s first appearance in Pennsylvania since narrowly escaping an assassination attempt in July in nearby Butler. After the Johnstown rally, a man will face misdemeanor charges after storming into the press area as former President Trump addressed his supporters. The man was subdued with a taser by law enforcement.
The crowd cheered as the man was removed by police officers. Trump said, “Is there anywhere that’s more fun to be than a Trump rally?”
Harris and Trump will soon face off in a presidential debate set for September 10th with ABC. The debate will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Topics such as immigration, the economy, and healthcare are expected to be highlighted during the upcoming debate.
Pennsylvania is being widely referred to as the state that could win this election for either Vice President Harris or former President Trump. With both deep blue and deep red areas across the state, the race for Pennsylvania is expected to be close.
