A winter storm is set to hit Pennsylvania on Monday, forecasters say.
According to the National Weather Service, up to 8 inches of snow accumulation is possible in southern parts of the state.
In Chambersburg, 2 to 8 inches of snow are currently expected. York is expected to see 2 to 7 inches of snow.
Harrisburg is expected to see slightly less, with under 6 inches of snow predicted. Lancaster, Mount Union, Altoona, and Johnstown are expecting 1 to 6 inches of snow.
Bedford and Somerset are expected to receive the most snowfall, with 3 to 8 inches expected heading into Monday’s storm.
Less than 4 inches is the current prediction for State College, Selinsgrove, Pottsville, and Allentown.
Forecasters have warned that total snowfall could increase or decrease on the upper and lower ends of the storm depending on Monday’s weather pattern.
PennDOT has released vehicle restrictions that will be in place from Sunday night to Monday night this week. I-81, I-83, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike are among the highways with restrictions.
The Commonwealth will have more than 600 equipment operators, safety patrol personnel, and traffic operators on call.
The National Weather Service is recommending checking the forecast frequently heading into Monday. It has said that no ice or sleet is currently expected as part of the storm.
