Casey is blaming inflation on corporate greed, but refuses to acknowledge his support for massive federal spending plays a major role.

Despite slamming companies for raising prices as a result of Biden’s inflationary government spending, campaign finance records show Democratic Sen. Bob Casey taking political contributions from the same corporations he criticized. In a twitter post last month, Casey decried the rise in prices at grocery stores yet Fox News found his campaign accepted thousands from the very companies producing the goods he complained about.

Whether it’s Proctor and Gamble, which makes toilet paper, or cereal maker Kellogg’s, Casey is all too willing to take campaign contributions from those he villainizes.

Casey is calling these rising prices “greedflation” and is making it a central theme of his reelection campaign. Pennsylvania’s senior senator has introduced legislation to stop companies from raising prices when overspending by Washington causes inflation. Inflation and the economy have become among the most important issues for voters. When President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, inflation was at 1.4%. After massive government spending, it peaked at 6.6% in September 2022. While it has come down since then, it is still more than double the January 2021 rate.

Associations representing thousands of Pennsylvania small businesses and employees have hit back at Casey, saying the senator ignores the reality that “inflation is driven by many complex factors”, federal legislation among them. The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry led the effort to criticize Casey’s rhetoric of demonizing small business, with the Pennsylvania Manufacturer’s Association and PennAg Industries Association among a variety of groups to join in.

It’s been pointed out that “Bidenomics” has increased the cost of living but failed to raise wages at the same rate for Pennsylvania workers, and some believe “career politicians like Biden and Casey” don’t understand the real pain inflation-causing government overspending causes to voters.

Casey has been using his legislation on the campaign stump, saying “the rich are mad as hell” at him. That does not stop his campaign from accepting donations from them.
