Pennsylvania Governor Race
Incumbent Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro is seeking a second term in office and is being challenged by Republican gubernatorial candidate and State Treasurer Stacy Garrity.
During his time in office, Shapiro has focused on growing Pennsylvania’s economy, securing education funding, and pursuing infrastructure investments. He has been supportive of legalizing recreational marijuana and raising the state’s minimum wage. He has been openly critical of the Trump administration, especially on immigration enforcement.
Garrity currently serves as Pennsylvania’s treasurer. Her campaign is focused on lowering taxes for working families, increasing school choice options for parents and students, and expanding natural gas production in the Commonwealth. Garrity is an outspoken supporter of President Trump’s agenda.
The race could have large implications for Pennsylvania, where the state legislature is divided. Democrats have a narrow majority in the state House, while Republicans control the Senate. Shapiro has had to negotiate with Senate Republicans on a variety of issues, especially when budget season hits Harrisburg.
Shapiro and Garrity are split on the issues that are important to voters, including abortion access and election security.
Recent polls show Shapiro, the incumbent, polling over 20 percentage points ahead of Garrity.
PA-10 Congressional Race
In Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, Republican incumbent Representative Scott Perry is locked in a rematch against Democratic challenger and former news anchor Janelle Stelson. In 2024, Perry won reelection by approximately 5,000 votes over Stelson, which was just over 1% of the vote.
Perry has held office since 2013. He is a former member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and previously served in the Pennsylvania House. He is a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. His work in Congress has been focused on reining in government spending and improving national security.
Stelson has focused her campaign on affordability and government accountability. She has been outspokenly critical of Perry’s support of President Trump’s policies. Stelson was a registered Republican until 2023.
Recent polling shows that the candidates are in an extremely close race. The race is expected to be very close and has gained national attention because it will determine who controls the House of Representatives in the next Congress.

The district covers parts of Lancaster County, including Lititz, Ephrata, and Mount Joy.
