Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to join her presidential ticket. Pennsylvania lawmakers and businessmen have reacted to the appointment.
Just months before the November election, President Biden ended his campaign for reelection and Vice President Harris picked up the Democratic ticket. She has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a champion for Democratic causes, to join her against Trump and Vance.
Pennsylvania lawmakers and businessmen alike have reacted to what is “the most liberal presidential ticket in history”, according to businessman Dave McCormick. He said in a statement on X, “A vote for Border Czar Harris, Walz, and weak Bob Casey is a vote for another four years of open borders, sky high inflation, destroying energy jobs in the commonwealth, defunding the police, and stripping Americans of their private health insurance.”
Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro has been supportive of Harris’ bid for the presidency since President Biden stepped down from the race. He was quick to vocalize his support for Tim Walz as her vice presidential pick. In a statement on X, he said, “I know that Governor Tim Walz is an extremely strong addition to the ticket who will help Kamala move our country forward.”
In a statement on X , Pennsylvania’s senior senator Bob Casey also voiced his support for Tim Walz. He called the Minnesota Governor a “committed and capable public servant”, expressing his prediction that Harris’ ticket will win the November election. He also reiterated his support for Shapiro and his gratitude that the Pennsylvania Governor remains in support of Harris’ election campaign.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was on the short list to be Harris’ vice-presidential pick.
