Almost 2 million voters in Pennsylvania submitted mail ballots to county election offices across the Commonwealth.
As of Election Day, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reported that 1,912,676 mail ballots had been submitted.
The total number of mail ballot applications that were approved came to 2,200,568, indicating that nearly 87% of Pennsylvania voters approved for a mail ballot had submitted it by the deadline for counting.
Registered Democrats in Pennsylvania returned more mail ballots at a total of 1,053,971. Registered Republicans submitted 629,505 mail ballots by November 5th.
Allegheny, Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties were in the lead for the most mail ballots submitted across the state. Voters in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania returned the most mail ballots at 225,484 submitted by Election Day. This election’s total mail ballots for Pennsylvania were behind that of 2020, when 2.6 million people voted by mail across the Commonwealth.
Mail ballots are not permitted to be processed before Election Day in Pennsylvania, so many still need to be counted before the state’s 19 electoral votes go to former President Trump or Vice President Harris.
